which carbie on my 84 gsl????

.i have a great deal on a holley setup for $500.00 that includes carb and rb intake.is that a better setup than say a del'orto or a webber setup or maybe even a mikinu,if i spelled any of these wrong sorry.what about a side draft setup?well i guess you probably want to know a little about my car.here it is .1984 gs with the gsl rear end."of course".stock ported ,soon to have rb header, full straight pipe exhaust with no cats or even muff.jacobs ignition, wires, dual msd 6al's,no emissions,no ac.let me know.thanks everyone.

If you run a rotary on an open exhaust you WILL get pulled over if a cop ever sees you... its just unbearably loud... i ran my car open header to hear how loud it was at just idle 700rpm you had to scream into the person next to you ear and they could still barely hear you... so.... at least look into a pre-silencer or a muffler... and from what I hear n/a cars to benefit from a little bit of back pressure but thats an on-going debate...

I would definitely go with a Webber or a Racing Beat Modified Dellorto 48 DHLA. Dellortos aren't made anymore. Probably the best place to find one is at partstrader.com You can find a plethora of information on the Racing Beat Dellorto at a web site called gruntled.com

As for the exhaust, even though your engine is stock ported, I would recommed the Racing Beat Street Port Exhaust System. You'll get a wider power band than with the header/collector single exhaust system.

Good Luck!

I was mainly reffering to a straight through exhaust... (no muffler) I ran my car with just headers through my dual pipes with the presilencer on each pipe and it was still hella LOUD not much of a difference betweeen with and without presilencers...

well let me keep you up to date.by the way thanks for all the replys."who could ask for a better crowd than the rotary crowd!" anyway i plan to go with the street port rb header and have custum exhaust ran to the back "to save money" i dont know which muffler i will go with yet.probably that muff that is two small round mufflers next to each other, than i will cut the pipe that connects the two mufflers together so it will be two straight pipes going out the rear never connecting.this will be loud, but it should give clost to the effect of open headers.by the way the price dropped down to $300.00 i gotta take it.im hopeing for 50 hp after this mod.keep me posted.

by the way i ran my exhaust straight out the back before with no muff or presilencers,i just had a dual resonated tip,the tip cut out alot of noise,to a by stander it sounds like a motorcycle.so cops dont pay to much attention, unless your driving like and *******.

7,500,000 RPM is pretty high, even for a jet engine. :p

You must mean 7.5k
