Mine is the best kind! (of course!)
click the button.
As far as your current stock Nikki, it would bee just fine if you waited till the car was warmed up completely before adjusting the fuel mix and idle. This is because the idle air/fuel ration changes with heat due to expansion.
The rat's nest is a series of solenoids that switch on and off according to the CPU, and cut or open manifold vacuum to certain circuits in the nest accordingly.
-You may have a hairline crack in a hose in a circuit that is exposed to manifold vacuum only under certain idling circumstances.
Very common.
Solution is to closely inspect/replace hoses after hot idle tuning is done as best as possible.
Or complete removal of the Rat's nest and capping of ports on the carby.

Airflow is my life
Look in the FAQ thread. Your carb problem can be a vacuum leak. Rats nest removal is covered in an easy to follow tutorial. Theres plenty threads on an E fan install. As for a replacement carb, your choices are a modified Nikki, Holley, Weber, Dellorto, Mikuni.
