Carb question for my 12A motor. (Specific)

Hey guys,

I am thinking of buying a Demon 525 CFM carb for my 12A since the Holley 500 is a piece of dung. Its a 4 barrel carb and isn't specific for a rotary motor. My questions are, is 525 CFM going to run ok on my streetported 12A. I know that like the 12A's have around 465 CFM. Having this bigger carb on my car, is it going to cause problems like surging and stuff that my 2 barrel 500 does now. Also does anyone know what racing beat does to there carbs to make them run on rotaries? Does it have anything to do with how the carb works. Just wondering because i don't know if a piston carb not modified can still be run on a rotary correctly. (Drivable) I know some people are going to read this and be like "use search!" But nothing was specific to a 525 that i could see and my searchs always come up with some stupid stuff and it takes so long to load the pages.

If anyone can help me out here i would be greatfull. Need to get a carb quickly. But i don't want to jump untop of something unless i can get some feedback on if it will work or not.

Thank you for your time

I have a Demon, an Edelbrock and 3 Holleys. I hate the demon, big waste of $$$$. Edelbrock is the smoothest and most reliable (650) and the holley 850 and 870 give the most power only becasue of their size. If I could do the Demon purchase all over I'd buy an 800 Edelbrock. Go with a 500 cfm thunder series Edelbrock and premix, you'll be soooo happy.

The difference when you buy a carb from Racing beat is that it is jetted properly, the linkage is set up for the 7, and it usually has provisions for your OMP lines.

I am with 84stock on the choice of carbs that you have listed. The edelbrock is one of the most user friendly type. Easily jetted, easily rebuilt, and have a very smooth transistion circuit thru the power bands.

Agreed on the racing beat setup, however elevation does effect jetting. It wasn't hard to create a linkage setup for the Edelbrock, you just need to think outside the box. I was working on modifying my Edelbrock to actuate the omp but never bothered. If you want plug and play, don't wanna premix and aren't creative, than the full RB kit is the way to go.

I premix now. My car is a engine with a carb and exhaust. I just don't know enough about carbs to know what to put on that will run smooth. This wouldn't be a issue if the mail system wasn't gay. Robs been trying to send me a modied nikki for about 3-5 months here.
