Carb problems on a Nikki

Thanks to a fellow forum member I have a great carb that seems to work great with one major exception. it wont stop putting gas at the top of the carb. if I leave the fuel pump on it has gas building up at the top of the carb(in that kinda triangle area around where the fuel comes in) to the point of running out. I dont think its the floats as I can start and run the car, but even with it running it wants to run over. I take the fuel pump fuse out and I can run it until it runs out but as soon as I put it back in it starts the same problem over again. Anyone have a clue?? And yes I did check to make sure the needle valves in the floats were clean and didnt stick. No I didnt mess with the float levels.

When its overflowing did you look at the fuel level in the bowls? Both front and rear?

I changed out the whole top plate but now its not flooding but it also doesnt idle or have enough power to get off the curb. You can hear it sucking alot of air and it wont move.

I have a thought I am kicking around. If its the needles not seating then the one that I just put on has new needles and the seats look like they are new. Will those seats unscrew? If so I will put them in the top plate that was running well. maybe that will solve it. I dont have any feeler gauges here so I cant check the levels on the floats ( not that I want to) but I am sure If I do swap those parts over, it will most likely have to reset the levels, right?

Thread is now dead if a mod wants to yank it. Fixed the problem by putting 3 carbs into 1 and made a working one.

thanks
