Carb Problem?? Help
I have a 1982 Mazda RX7 that had been sitting 15 years. I dropped the gas tank and it was gel. I had it flushed, acid dipped and sealed. I changed out the fuel pump and fuel filter. Now it will start but runs rough. My RX7 has a idle limiter cap (Mass Cap) that covers the Air Adjust Screw and the Mixture Adjust Screw. I am debating on rebuilding it but would like to know if there is an after market Carb I can place on it and if I do what else would I have to change? If any one can help please drop me a line.
Thanks
Oh yea....I have changed all the fluids and spark plugs.

Racing beat, Sterling (www.sterlingmetalworks.com), and some of the other companies have carbs. Sterling modifies stock nikkis, racing beat has holleys.
However there is very little to no possibility you will pass emissions with an aftermarket carb.
If you go with a sterling nikki, nothing is required. some new gaskets and thats it. All other carbs you will need a new manifold and air cleaner assembly
Sterling is a member of the forum, so you know. Visit his site for more info.

sitting
I had one that was sitting for quite some time. Never had to mess with the carb. I did the same thing flushed the tank ect.
I could get it going but it ran pretty rough.
Check your ignition system. I replaced my cap and rotor and air filter. Standard tune up stuff. Once I replaced the things that would normally be replaced it ran just fine. Also make sure you dont have any loose hoses. I have one that sometimes falls off and when that happens it runs real rough. Like I said I never even had to touch the carb.

well i mean..it all depends what you want done..if you look at the price page on his web site. I think the cheapest is like $280..and that is it just being rebuilt, he can strip emissions and it will cost a bit more..and if you want him to paint it its more...just have a look..
