Carb problem fixed!! NEXT.....

Well I got her purring like a kitten finally. The problem I was having was resolved by removing the carb top plate, measuring the floats and determined that they were all out of spec. My fault, I didn't even think to check during the rebuild. So with that done, I try to fire her up, nothing. I flooded it worse than Moses. Drained the oil and you would swear it was premix. Changed oil and filter. Put in a new set of plugs (using NGK 7's and 9's). Started on the first clik and purred like a kitten. No smoke, good idle, everything kosher. Then after going for a spin, I noticed that under power, sometimes, there was alot of blue smoke trailing behind. So the guess is, the oil control rings are fubar from the car sitting for nearly a year. I will try to use some motor honey first, if that doesn't work, rebuild time. My question is, do the oil control rings come with a gasket set, or a rebuild kit. I ask because I can get a gasket set from work for real cheap. I can always order it and see the contents list I guess.

According to the spec sheet that came with the carb kit (GP Sorenson) the floats should sit falt and 5/8" off of the top plate when the plate is INVERTED. When they hang naturally, the lowest tip should be 2" from the top plate. Also they should be eyeballed to see if they are square from all angles.

Made a major difference. The car flooded so bad, now its great. Before I tweaked them, the bowls were completely full of fuel, now its all good!
