Carb part question PLEASE help

The carb is fully disassembled and when I had the main body inhand, a small metal ball fell out- where does it go?

There are two check ***** in the accellerator pump circuit. One in the fuel inlet and one under the discharge nozzle. There is also a weight that goes on top of the check ball for the nozzle. You may have lost all three.

Hold up..!!!

I just cleaned up / rebuilt my nikki and I didn't see these check ***** or weights...? Although I did have the check ***** left over after it was all back together...

Do they just fall out or you have to remove / unscrew / turn upside down something before that happens..?

Where the ap diaphragm is, at the top of the body is a brass plug, it is slotted for a common screwdriver. Under it is the skinny checkweight (Abbott) and under that is a checkball. In the center of the body (in the middle of the 4 barrels) is the AP pump squirter. It has a double slot for a common screwdriver. Under it is the short fat checkweight (Costello), under that is the other checkball.

exploded view of nikki carb

Here is an exploded diagram of a nikki carb for you. If you want to download it to print, or save it to zoom in using imaging software, I saved it at a higher resolution at this link:

Hope this helps.

Came with an old rebuild kit from 10 years ago or more. I keep in around for reference just in case a long time passes between rebuilds. I did them every week at a shop I worked at years ago. Now I rarely do rebuilds so I find the sheet helpful. It is well used as seen from the grunge.

They stop fuel coming out of the accelerator pump nozzle when not in use as well as keeping the circuit primed. You need em.
