Carb issue and no access to manual
When I tried to look at the online manual, the fuel section is unavailable.
My stock 85 12a stalls every time I let off the throttle when it's cold outside, but the engine is warm enough to kick off the choke.
If I let off the throttle to stop, it idles down to zero and shuts off. It restarts with a little coaching and stays running as long as throttle is applied, or you feather the throttle down at stops. This only happens when it's cold outside, it doesn't matter how long I've run the engine. The temp gauge works and the thermostat housing is at operating temp.
What controls the idle stability when throttle is suddenly released? My Haynes manual is zero help.
If it's warm outside, I have zero issues, so it doesn't seem to be a carb only issue. This has been happening off and on for awhile, but now it's every time I drive it in the cold.
I did replace the plugs and thermostat recently, but this happened before and after that.
Thanks!
