Question Carb Isolator Help Needed

The car is a 1985 GS: I pulled the carb off to rebuild, when I started to clean up the "carb isolator" (the base that sits between the carb and the intake manifold, that has 5 brass tubes) I discovered that I can't get the old gaskets off the "isolator". It is feels like it is bonded to the "isolator"! It didn't stick to the manifold or the carb? Any help would be appreciated, thought about soaking it in the carb cleaner, suspect that would damage the paint: but if I have to? Help!
Thanks, Speke-EZ

The phenolic spacer has no gaskets, at least the on the carbs I've taken off. It is the same setup as the FI engines. I don't know why there is even base gaskets in the kit.

Base gaskets are in the kit since the kit is for a variety of mazda carbs. I assumed that the base gaskets in the kit are for a different setup. I did take the gaskets off a phenolic spacer once. Dont do it.
