Carb. help needed

Ok, posted this sometime back but still have not fixed the problem yet. I did a rebuild on a carb. from an 82. After re-installing the car will only start if I pour a little gas down the primary barrels and then die in a few seconds after the fuel burns up. So, obviously no fuel is getting into the intake. Fuel pump is fine. I check that first. Fuel is making it to the accel. pump. because if a open the throttle quickly I get the squirt of fuel into the carb. but no fuel is flowing through the carb. otherwise. I am getting ready to tear the carb. down again. Does anyone have any ideas about what I should be looking for as to why no fuel is flowing through the carb. except to the accel. pump.

Also, if is disconnect the return fuel line and block it off, the car will start and run. Does not run smooth but will run so with the return fuel line blocked fuel will get throught the carb. Again, any ideas are welcome.

Thanks!

It sounds like you may have the throttle body gasket flipped over.

You might just have the floats adjusted incorrectly. I had the same symptoms and that was my problem. check the float bowl window thingies on each side of the carb and see if the fuel is halfway up in both.
