Where exactly is the gas flowing from? The Dellorto DHLA is very similar to the Weber DCOE, and on those the floats can easily get stuck in the down position, allowing gas to gush out of the float bowl vent and everywhere else when the fuel pump is turned on.

Try taking off the top of the carb and making sure the floats move freely up and down. Then carefully put the carb top back on, being very careful to make sure the floats don't get caught on the gasket. I recommend using a screwdriver or something to hold them in the up position as you put the carb top back on. Turn the fuel pump back on and check for leaks. If it's not leaking anymore, you're good to go. You may have to deflood the engine before starting it if a bunch of liquid gas went down the intake manifold.

Fuel will come out the stacks/filter if the floats are stuck or the fuel pressure is too high. Try Gruntled.com or Pierce Manifolds for a rebuild kit. Since the car sat for 2 years, it's time to renew the carb with a thorough cleaning and fresh gaskets, probably new needle and seats too.
