Carb flooding easy?

On my '79, I can start it right up in the morning, and it will run great for about 5 min or so, then it dies. I'm unable to restart it at ALL. Everytime this happens, I look down the carb and I can see fuel just sitting down there (a large pool). What would cause the carb to flood out after 5 mins of running? Can this be easily fixed?

Thanks,
Matt

Possibly the return line is clogged and not letting gas come back out of carb resulting in overflowing the bowls. That is an idea I am no where near a carb "expert". But from what I do know, and all the stupid crap I have had to mess with it sounds like it could be something to do with the floats sticking. If you start it, let it run for a minute or 2 and then look down the carb and have someone shut it off, does it pour gas into it? Thats what mine did when the floats stuck. A few ideas to throw out there. To check the fuel return line just use some compressed air and shoot it down (towards tank) that line. You will hear bubbling coming from tank if it is clear. Also dont forget to take off gas cap so all that air has somewhere to go. I hope that helps somewhat.

Probably stuck needles/seats. You can pull off the top of the carb and clean the needles and seats.
