Carb/Engine question

After what seems like an eternity the car runs I have the idle at 900 if I play with the throttle I can get it down to 500. When I started it today, went around and looked down the carb and only the rear was getting fuel, turned the linkage and it started sucking fuel on the front at what I can only assume was around 1500 or higher. MY question is were to start could I have a stuck seal the car sat for 2 years. I rebuilt the carb myself could i have screwed something up any help would be great. When the car is idle it sounds good no shuddering just sits there and purrs.

Start with your primary jets. Take off the sight glass window and you can see if your jets are clogged.

If it not causing problems, I would put some Techron or other fuel cleaner in a fresh tank of gas and drive it for a week.

Make sure your accelerator pump is in good condition as well. Look for one of Trochoid's posts and follow his sig link to the manuals. Learn the dynamics of the carb and diagnose the problem. I'm sure you'll figure it out way faster than we can tell you what to do.

Can someone help me I want this car out of my garage! Again today went out started it up ran fine at 800-900 RPM only getting fuel to the rear. I have taken the carb apart about 5 times I think its together right. I you give it gas it wil suck down the front port. I've read some posts might try some more stuff just getting sick of it.

Sterling may say something to you. His advice is A+

But until he comes in i would suggest making sure your floats read correctly.

Leave yer floats ALONE.

ES, I dunno what bonehead told you to go messing with your floats, but theres NO NEED for it!
So that info given to a newbie is BAD INFO!!!

BAD!

Now Rotarywall, I suggest you do a bit of research on how the carb works.
First of all, it's the FRONT of the carb that has the primaries, and these are the only ones you'll ever "see" fuel go into because your carb has vacuum operated secondaries.
Second of all, you're SUPPOSED to idle @ 750 RPM.

Seems to me there's absolutely nothing wrong with your car.
