well, some carb cleaners are very abrasive because they are designed for piston engines... that might damage something... I know i used a carb cleaner and i think something was damaged... not too sure what it was but when i rebuild the carb, i'll find out
I spray about a 1/2 can down my carb every spring and a little after I do an ATF treatment. I've never heard of them doing any harm. I've also never heard of abrasives in a carb cleaner - wouldn't that damage any engine - boinger's included??

ok. Thx for the help. My 7 has been acting like she is out of gas while at mid to high RPM during acceleration. Ya I am going with the cheap fix first before moving to bigger things.
