Carb Abd Manifold Swap

Hey guys. I'm about to swap in a RB intake manifold and an edelbrock 400 in place of my nikki stuff. I was wondering from those of you who have already swapped your carbs and manifolds, anything I should know? Any tricks I need to know to make it go smoothly? How much of the smog control stuff can I take off? The original nikki has millions of little tubes going everywhere. Will I need any of this on the new carb?
