Carb for a 13B4-port SP

Hey I was wondering, is the mikuni carb with 38mm venturis large enough for a 13B 4port with a SP. it's got headers with a full exhaust.

I think the Mikunis used on rotaries were 44mm IIRC.

Weber 48 IDA.

I've got a manifold for that motor if you're interested. 200 shipped. It's essentially brand new, with only 4000 miles on it. They go new for 270 + shipping.

i have the RB Holley setup for the streetport. it's kinda pricey new, u'd have to check racingbeat.com for exact price. if gas mileage is an issue, the Holley is a better choice over the larger 2bbl carbs.

mikuni is good but not enough for a large streetported 13-B. In fact, I wasnt satisfied with a holley 600 either. For me, IDA is different kind of HIGH...I always look for it.

40 is too much...48 is common.

I have experienced with RB dellorto with one piece or 2 piece wrap around manifold. Its a good street carb but not aggressive. Very slow throttle response IMHO. It was a hype when they first came out in mid=80's. After loosing several street races, I went back to my old modified RX-2 carb.

Drivefast7 is using a LC manifold in his dellorto. he spent long hours to get it perfect...he did a good write up with it.I call him "Master Dellorto". I dont have no experience with a straight shot dellorto and there is a big difference between the 2 system...

Thanks Mel. Yes, I like the lake cities intake manifold and got it running great on a 12a sp and my current 12a j-bridge.

my repu has a 13b 4port, dellorto 48dhla and the rb 2piece intake manifold. 41mm chokes. that truck can move quick, but the 41's take away low end. i'm switching to 39mm chokes. i think the throttle response is fine, but it absolutely rips with the lake cities intake manifold.
