Car wont start????

I have an 85 12A stock.
One day in the freeway the car all of a sudden just shut down.
Cranks but wont start
I have good spark but the carburetor seems to be dry no fuel coming in at all. I replaced the fuel pump and that didnt work removed main fuel line to carb and no fuel even with ignition on. I also checked the fuel filter and it is o.k.
Car will start when I add fuel directly to the carb
I need help trying to figure out what it is.
Any advice would help.
Thanx in advance

Is the fuel pump known to be good? If not, check that it works by hooking it direct to 12V. If so, check the wiring including the relay.

also check you line for cloggs, and did it run when you put gas directly in it, and did it shut down while you were driving it?

The fuel pump I got to replace it does work because they tested it for me. But when I installed it nothing changed. Where would the relay be located?

Car did fire up when adding fuel directly to it, and yes car did shut down while driving. The weird thing is that it ran fine for the 3 months I had it.
Thanx
