I just got thruough boring my intake manifold to pull more ponys to help with my next run, unfotenatly when i put evrey thing back on my carb began flooding, so i replaced with a spare and now evry thing works fine, but my car won't idle, it will turn over and start to run for about 2secs but then stop. I removed the spark plugs cleaned them, then turned the car over without them in to try to push out any exas gas but when i replaced the plugs and tryed again it ran for about 12secs than stoped and never did that again now its the same as before and im lost plz help and if alex 7 has any more unconstructive opinions plz keep them to ur slef thnx

try checking gaskets, or vaccum leaks.

Quit trying to start arguments!

Anyway, about your question: It's almost definately a vacuum problem. Make sure ALL hoses are securely connected to the correct place. Unplug one end of the hose, and see if htere's a change in idle. If not, that's your loose hose.

I'm back biatch.

What the **** are you doing "boring" your intake manifold? you're not going to "Pull any more ponies" for your next *** slide without doing complementairy intake exhaust mods.

My constructive opinion,

My guess is your carbs going to need tuning to acomodate the exess manifold volume.

hello alex, couldn't stay away huh. k so i already adjusted my carb, like the second thing i did, and boring out my intake manifold i would asume would speed up the process thus producing more lowend.

off the subject and not trying to be insulting, but is alex your real name, wundering cause i just got a pup, cool tyke, his name is alex too, i got him bout 2 week before i started the thread so don't worry.

. You'd probably have gotten more power out of port matching, to be honest.

I would search for dizzy, timing. If your timing is off enough, car won't start.

You might want to be thinking about exhaust and jetting mods to acomodate. There is a relatively delicate balance that you may have disturbed.

And yup, It's Alex. Alexander Charles Crawford Patterson (indecisive parents) To be exact.

Please don't take your anger out on your dog

k like what kind of mods, belive me i would have done that first before porting if i knew there were ways without performance carb, exhaustmanifold.

the dog will heal in a few weeks

OK, My understanding is that there is not really any restriction in the intake manifold. Soo it probably did not need to be ported. especially if you are a stock(ish) exhaust and carb.

My advice for getting more power is, #1 exhaust. The exhaust one of the most important things to address when tuning a rotary. Get yourself a header, Racing Beat, or even a Pace Setter if you can't afford the RB. Ditch your cats and stock mufflers, Racing beat also makes all these Pieces but if you can't afford them, have a muffler shop fab you a header back exhaust useing Racing Beat (or maybe Magnaflow) mufflers.

Next, Talk to sterling or RX7carl about modding your stock Nikki carb for better performance. Do a search for the sterling carb and do some research. But beople seem to get great reasults with their carbs. It costs in the neighborhood of $300 if I remember right.

These two things combined with, oh say a direct fire ignition setup and perhaps an electric fan, and you will be about as "pimped" as a stock port 12A is capable of being. Say 150 HP(ish)

was told pace setter could actually reduce hp, only reason mines not on yet, i already removed all my cats, and i found a way to open the secondaries all the way when you step on the gass other than that i only have one acel supercoil running to my leading plugs stock to my trailing, 8.8 on the wiers also acel, and stock ngk plugs, all but the water pump and clutch fan removed and altinator, and replace my radiator with the one out of the 13b so with evry thing seeming ok i supose it should run , it actually idled for about 30 secs when i had help with tunnig but we move the disributor one too many degrees and nothing

Pull your distributor out and line up the mark (bump) on the bottom of the shaft with the mark on the gear. Stab it straight in and you should be pretty close.
