i have a 1985 gs i took out all of the emmisions stuff made the secondaries mechanical and took out the butterfly in the intake i also took off the vaccum block and made sure there is no vaccum leaks. my problem is that the car just wont idle. We took off the exhaust cause i thought the cats were clogged and removed 2 of the three of them. we have adjusted the timing and messed with the idle mixture and speed screws and it still wont idle. i bought new coils plugs and distributor cap and rotor. still no idle help.

 

Check the vent solenoid on the carb and make sure you have 12 volts hooked up to it. There is a post on this with pictures by bstrange99. Search for it. The picture helps you locate the vent solenoid.

 

take the carb off then put it back on and make sure the gasket is sitting right and carb is torqued down tight.

 

Just a shot in the dark here, but you see this hose?

Make absolutely sure that you capped the port on the other end of it when you did the rats nest removal.
