Car wont go into gear

I cannot get my car to go into gear while it is running. It will go into gear if the car is not running though. I have checked the master and the slave cylinder and they are both working fine. Also If I can get the car moving started in gear (bumping) then I can shift gears by rev matching. Could this be a pressure plate problem.

Sounds like you have a hydrolic issue. You may have a bad slave cylinder

If you have done any clutch work recently you may need to just re-bleed the system

If you can see the slave cylinder working then I'm afraid it's in the clutch. If it's happened suddenly then something's come apart. Release Bearing? Fork Arm Broken?
Clutch itself?

I found the problem. i recently installed a new clutch master cylinder, I forgot to readjust the the lil arm thing back out so that it wouldnt put pressure on the master cylinder, it was just enough to cause the clutch to slip enough to heat up and weld itself to my flywheel.

So in all me being forgetful cost me a lil bit of money....oh well.

Don't forget to bleed the m/c throughly. A vacuum bleeder usually works better than the two person method if you're have trouble getting a pedal.....
