Coming back from school the other day. Stopped and then took off like normal. But whenever i gave it throttle, the car just started to shutter violently. it's not missing at all i know. it's kind of like bogging down real bad. I've checked all the ignition and that has checked out fine. The carb that i got is a RB Holley 465. I really need help getting this fixed cause the car pretty well will not drive.

 

Does the engine idle normally? If so, check fuel supply starting with a new fuel filter, then the volume/pressure test listed in the FSM. If the idle is rough, perform the ghetto compression test.

 

shutter valve, under the carb on the drivers side. or some other large vac leak. would be my guess.

 

i would first do a comperssion test. what rpm is the engine idling at and does the car have a catlyitic converter?

 

The compression is good. More than 100 psi on both front and back. My idle is perfect 750. No cat. Ive checked for vaccum leaks and havent found any at all. Wht is the shutter valve
