car ran good

My car really ran good today, got it up to 100 for the first time passing some traffic. Competely safe, of course, I was on a GA interstate going by a ford something filled with people waiting to roll over going 80 in the left hand lane (80 is legal in GA). How is it these sevens just keep running better the more you run them?

Would it count if you've driven through Georgia??
I bought my 7 from a guy in Atlanta.. You guys keep your interstates pretty darn nice!
Recently had my RX-7 on the open freeway..Cruised nicely at 90-95.

Yeh that's the thing, these cars are such a pleasure to drive at high speed for long distances out on the interstate. These rotary engines just eat up the miles. Mine's a pretty much stock 12A (with a little help on the exhaust), but doing 80 in fifth gear it still has plenty of punch if you need to pass. I was really surprised to look down at the speedo and see it ticking 100 mph, I didn't think I was going that fast (and I don't think I ever have before, I'm no street racer).

And it seems to me that the Turd just keeps running better and better the more miles I put on her (24,000 and counting since I got it a year ago for $1,600). All I do is change the oil, I haven't even done a tune up since I first got it.

You are right Tom, GA has great highways and nearly perfect weather year round, not to hot, not to cold, great for 7s.

Damn, perfect weather?? Ever lived in Colorado? I think georgia is cold during the winter without the benefit of snow, too hot in the summer without low humidity, have about a month of decent weather.
On the other hand, lots of great roads and highways, but I miss the colorado mountain drives. Hmm, colorado. I miss it. If I could only have a house there.
By the way, it amazes me how easily 100 mph cruises in my 12a. I went 95 from atlanta to knoxville a few days ago, and pulled 23 mpg! Can't complain about that, especially from a rotary.

Colorado is very pretty, but too hot and dry for my taste. Then in the winter it's too cold and dry, and brown all year round. Also going up and down those mountains all the time tears up on your car. I like the green landscapes, rolling hills and stuff growing.

Yeh, that's the other thing that's nice about the 12A, going fast (over 80 mph) doesn't cut the gas mileage down much, like it does in a boinger. I get around 23 mph too, cruising mostly 80-85. Is there something about the rotary design that extends gas efficiency to higher speeds than for boingers?
