Red face Car insurance

I’m in the process of buying a new vehicle but still keeping the 7. But I’m only going to drive it mostly on weekends and I don’t feel like paying the full insurance on it just to put a couple thousand miles a year on it. Just curious on what others are doing.

What’s my options

I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee and when I bought the RX7, I listed it as my daily driver and insurance actually went down. I only have liability on it.

I’m currently paying 58 a month, but someone told me that they insured both their cars with a company, and they classified their sports car as a weekend drive vehicle. By doing this they only pay 350 per year for full coverage on there sport car. That what I’m looking for to see if anyone insured or heard of insuring a vehicle like this. I don’t want classic insurance because you can only drive 1k a year.

Call your insuracne company and see, they will take it off as the Daily and put that on your new car.

Same here. And told the ins company it was only driven X miles per year, can't recall how many. Essentially, a weekend driver.

Talking

$300/yr x 4 mazda's. But again, I have 2 almost brand new SUV's included in the policy. The benefit of having multiple cars.

Do those collector type insurance companies check your mileage from time to time?

They ask for yearly milage statements. If you get in an accident and the milage is way over what you report, you get **** on. They make you send in pictures of your car and you must be a driver for I think at least 10 years before they even look at you.

325 for 6 months, covers both the 1st and 2nd gen, full coverage but I have a 1k dedutable on collision and 500 on comprehensive. If I could roll my box van into the policy, it would be cheaper but all I can get on that is commercial since it's a box van, that's another 835 a year.

Being older with a clean record definitely saves money.

Question

Helo, ok, so since i have moved i need to get a new car insurance provider, cause my current insurance company wants to jump $500 since i moved from NC to Chicago.
anyway, who ya'll got for car insurance? are they reasonably priced for a 6-month period?
i've done those comparisons on the web, i have checked some quotes from www.oneshopinsurance.com. yeah its cool but i would like to hear what's good from other forum members.kindly share your experience and ideas.

thanks in advance

I just bite the bullet. I pay for both cars full price and when its time to put her away I just tell them to take it off and the credit the amount spent on her into the other car. Through it all I pay less at the end of the year.

My insurance has an option to have a summer car also, I think its just too much of a hassle to try and keep your milage under a certain amount.

Well that weird that insurance is so high for some of you guys, I'm 16 and I live in Florida and I'm only paying 173$ a month with the safe driver course discount, and my good student 3.0GPa discount......Although my insurance is only covers PIP and Liability....no collision the people at the insurance office said theres no sence in putting on collision but I'm am adding Comprehinsive soon...in cause any vandals decide to mess with my baby.

With my 2nd car included I’m only paying $99.40 per month and that’s full coverage on my 7. But I can’t wait to see what they want to charge me when it comes out of winter storage.
