Exclamation Car is in the Drive Way!

I got the car here today. Body is FLAWLESS. No dents, No paint fade, NO rust. Some clear coat is coming off, probably about the size of my thumb but I can buff it out. Now then.

The engine Block is a A 12a.

It seems they thought the engine was a 13b ( F*ckin Retards..) And spliced ALL the wiring with a 13b wiring harness... SO I need a new 12a Wiring harness. If anyone has a 12a Wiring harness (the one that comes off the black clip in the engine bay) please let me know as I will Buy it like now, Today, money order/paypal/personal check/i dont give a f*ck.

Few More questions.

1. Is it tough to Turbo the 12a? I'm new to rotary and not sure about how well they hold the pressure compared to needing forged pistons and such..

2. Is there any rebuild engine kits available to the 12a.

3. Does anyone have some interior pieces they wish to sell from the 1980? I need the plastic peace that goes around the shifter, the left part of the steering column (the little plastic piece there), The whole twisting mechanism for the sunroof, The light above the rear view mirror, the visors on the inside of the car. please let me know ASAP.

what color is your interior? i have a brown int that i will be removing, atkins rotary does rebuild kits, and i would suggest doing that before considering a turbo setup. i also might have the harness that you require its from a 83 and i havent removed it yet so i am not sure if it has any cuts. pm me for more info. good luck with the car btw!

1) custom work is required, takes some good fabrication skills and knowledge on how to piece together turbo kits.

2) Yes. Racingbeat.com, atkinsrotary.com, and I'm sure there are more.

3) No, I do not.

That car has been painted. From the factory the handles were all black. Also, the side molding being removed is a good sign its been painted. Either way, it is a nice looking car you have there.

Got it from the original owner, called him 10 minutes ago. Car has not been painted, but the handles have. has had some touch up jobs on the hood and roof though. Anyone knows about the harness question?

I belive if you have an 80 that harnees is just for that car. The oil level sensor is different 81-85. Also 84-85 the harness hooks up on the passengers side. Do some search but i belive this is correct from my searching.

i absolutely hate the painted interior. the rest of the car looks nice though. the 80 harness is different from the 85. the 80 had electronic ignition but seperate ignitors away from the distributor. also, the 85 was a different beast and had updated components. you can make a later harness work but it will take time and patience. i would just hold out for one from an 80. this way you know everything is correct.

Ok but the the 80 harness would wire straight up to the 85 engine then?

no so much. the 85 had a seperate emissions ecu and the 80 did not. its an all together different harness with few matching connections.

No you need a harness from a 80. It would be the best bet for you. The 84-85 connected on both the drivers and pass side.

Your best bet is to post up a Want to buy ad in the first gen for sale section on the fourm and you should get a response.

As for the turbo, Id worry about getting her running and knowing your car inside in and out before making the leap into forced induction.

Hope this helps ya.
