car died

I know, I know search, but I will do that later. Anyway on the way to school today my car died. I was sitting at a stop sign and the tach stoped working then worked then stopped again. The car then died, I started it, it ran and died, I started it again and it died again, then it would not start. I replaced the trailing igniter with one I had and the car started, then died. I am going to check the fuel pump and leading igniter when I get time

I was wondering if anybody has had this problem and could tell me exactly what happened.
Thanks
Nick

You can run the car on just the leading. Make sure thats working b4 you mess with the trailing. Unless you have it wired backwards. It happens. My daily driver was backwards when I bought it.

Nevermind, I got it started. I am sorry for the post, it was more of a panic. I am a week from prom and I have to have my car working. I turned out to be the leading ignitor. Dang thats the second igniter I have blown. I need to hurry up and finish my direct fire, well I have it done I just havn't had a chance to troubleshoot it.
Thanks anyway

With these cars, it seems like any problem could come from any cause. Hell, I bet your problem could be from low tire pressure. Hope you have more luck than I've been having with my ghost.

You need to make sure you put some transfer paste on the back of the ignitors so they don't overheat and fail. (just like you would on a processor in a computer.)

How is the transfer past for conducting electricity. I tried to hook my direct fire up a while back and I think the bottom of the HEI's are supposed to be grounded to the plate. Well anyway I used the transfer paste and I could not get anything to fire. I am going to go try and hook it up again, I will let you guys know how it goes.
