car bogs after warmed up

Ok, I have a 79rx7 w/ an 82 engine.I have cleaned and sealed the gas tank, replaced fuel filter, 2 new ignition coils, new ngk plugs, have swapped between 2 sets of plug wires- just for the record. My problem is that the car starts and runs fine(it does have a slight miss I can't seem to get rid of) until it gets warmed up well. then out of no where it will bog if you try to accelerate too much ,usually starts in about 3rd gear if I try and open it up and it just starts to bog and choke. the car will die if I don't feather the gas and when it does die it doesn't want to start back up without a shot of carb cleaner at which point it starts up and idles roughly.I can drive at this point as long as I take it really easy, btw the distributor shocked the **** out of me when I touched in this state. also I'm sure the floats are off and I'm waiting on some new ones any day.
any help would be greatly appreciated

When you sealed the tank, did you make sure to leave the fuel pickup tube plenty of room underneath? If the sealer has settled into the small depression under the pickup tube, or gotten inside the tube, it can cause fuel starvation.

yeah I watched it pretty closely. the car had these symptoms before I cleaned the tank, I was hoping it was just trash clogging the fuel filter.

Before you start tearing into things. Check the fuel level in both sight glasses.
Download a copy of the Carb manual or check the archives for one of the carburetor threads.

good call doc and sliderseven . the float was getting hung up because the valve had rattled loose. tightened up the valve and everything is working properly now!!
