Can't Find Inhibitor Switch/Neutral Safety Switch

I need to adjust the inhibitor switch on my 1985 FB since it only starts in neutral. I'm looking on the left, divers side by the oil pan of the transmission but I can't find it.

Haynes says to look forward of the downshift solenoid and vacuum diaphragm, where should I look for those?

Is it near this?

what is that rod? its bolted to the trans, but the other side is bolted to the shifter, and there will be some kind of linkage

Here are some better photos of it.
I think it must be on the other side.
Do I need to disconnect anything before I remove those exhaust parts?

Steel tubing on left side of trans are cooler lines. PRNDL range switch is on right side of trans and with a cool engine/exhaust can reach over top of exhaust parts in place to access adjustment bolts. A mirror/light may be helpful.
