is there any aftermarket upgrades for ignitors????

Thanks for props, or whatever the kids are saying these days. However I think he's asking about ignitors only. GM HEI is a pretty good replacement for your stock J-109 ignitors. A '79 Corvette is what to say when you go to AutoZone. It should be the 4 pin version. Don't get the 7 pin.

haha I just went to advanced auto to buy 3 of these HEI ignitors and the guy behind the counter didnt even know what the hell an ignitor was. I guess I need to find a new parts store...

Oh, and can you use these HEI ignitors on a stock ignition system?

theres your problem right there (advanced auto). ive only found a few ppl that work in advanced and autozone that know what the hell is going on. o'rielly's usually hire good people, the few ppl at advanced and autozone that know anything got hired by o'rielly's when they moved into town here.

Try asking for an "ignition control module" instead of "ignitor" and you might get more understanding....
