I want to know the reserve on that car. Man that is in such good shape... and I've been wanting to add an SE to my collection.

Too bad it is so far away. I wish I were closer to Cali. *continues searching*

Who wrote that long thread about there not being any stock rx7's when they go classic?.... Yeah, you should buy this one then. I guess it does have it's own uniqueness when it is stock, looks really nice.

Whoever buys it better take good care of it damnit or egg your house!

Very, very nice. I too would like to know what the reserve ($$$$) is.

My '84 GS's condition is good enough to rival this SE, but I only have 95k on the odometer.

That appears to be a very clean SE. Just an observation.....but I do find it interesting that the description of the car says it's a one owner, but the license plates on the car were not available in the 80's....or even 90's for that matter.

What do you guys think is the reserve price on this? I'm thinking $7K-8K.....not that I necessarily think it's worth it. I'm aware of sold SE's with 54K, 49K (the one I bought) and 36K just as clean as this one that sold anywhere from $5500-$8600. Thoughts?

You still get new plates every 7 years, well atleast in TX thats the case. The reason they give is that the reflectivness of the plate wears off.

It doesn't work that way here in Cali, but I suppose the owner could have moved to the State within the past 5 years or so and had to get new plates. In any case, it is a nice car.

Question

It's obviously an example of a well maintained 85 GSL-SE. But I have to wonder how something as basic as a battery/tray/cables could be allowed degrade in an otherwise clean engine compartment? Rusty battery tray, corroded battery cables/terminals in a car that has spent it's life beautiful SOCAL. Was anything else overlooked?

Twin sister to my car. And mine only has 58k miles. Unfortunately my paint isn't as good however. Also, no air or power steering, and my interior shows slightly more wear.

Kevin, you're in the ballpark with those numbers. The 50k mile range car goes for $5500 or so. I paid over $8000 for my SE last year (it only had 22k on it though)....
