Can Someone Help Me?

hey, i was wondering if anyone knew a lot about '81 rx7s. mine had been giving me some trouble....ehemm, a lot of trouble and if someone could answer some of my questions that would be great.

1. the choke won't come out, i have no clue what is up.
2. the car idles at about 4000 rpms
3. my battery drains everytime i recharge it, and i got a new one and i think it is something electrical...(duh)

anything would be helpful, thanks

1....the water temp switch might be faulty, or there is no circuit to the switch itself. Either of this can trick the choke into thinking the car is warm.

It could also be an issue with the cable being stuck - especially becuas of point 2.

2...either your idle screw is way out (can't be that out IMO) or more likely, your throttle cable/throttle mechanism is stuck open. Check all the cables attached to the throttle mechanism for binding and sticking.

3....there are so many things that could be its not funny. much more info is needed - is the alternator charging? are there a number of accessories installed? etc

I would first check that the alternator is actually charging the battery.
