can I fit 14" rims on 80 model?

Assuming I can find a rim with the correct bolt pattern and offset.
Is it possible to fit a 14" rim with low profile tires on an 80 model?
Would low profile tires keep the clearance with the larger rim?
Thanks, any advice is appreciated.

You can fit 17's on a first gen...But 15x7 is your best option. Carl

A good choice is 14" with 205 60s, you can later lower suspension one inch and the ride is still not too harsh. The critical factor is the condition of your shocks, if they get worn and too soft then the suspension will bottom out on bumps, and the car will handle badly on cornering.

When you are looking for wheels remember the correct lug spacing and wheel offset.

Can someone fill me in on the stock offset value?
Or is offset relative to the stock rim? ie does stock offset=0?

I want the final product to look like stock offset.

Thanks

Is the stock 13" rim 5.5" or 6"?
