camber plates and regular springs
I have done some reading on this, just want to double check. I have a 82 gsl with konis and eibach pro kit springs. The alignment shop was not able to dial any negative camber on one side of the car ( the car has been hit before). anyway, I want to get some camber plates so i can run negative camber on both sides of the car. From what i've read, there are four choices for camber kits
the ones racing beat sells (though availability is uncertain)
the ones mazdatrix sells (will need an insert or have shocks machined) does the machining work or konis with the stock adjustment on top?
ground control
g force engineering
now, I also want to eventually get the tri point strut tower brace from cp racing, is there a camber kit that'd work with all these components?
cpracing front stb
eibach pro kit springs
konis top adjustable shocks
and what kind of modification would i need to do?
Thanks,
Alvin

I don't know of a camber top that will work with the standard springs.
On the cheap you can get some camber by slotting the 3 strut tower holes. You can slot them about 1/2 inch. Also you can redrill the lower inner suspension arm mounting holes about 3/8 - 1/2 inch towards the center of the car.
Both these will easily gain 1 degree of negative. I have done both of these before going to coil over suspension and camber tops. I was able to get between -1 and -1.5 degrees.

The camber/caster plates sold by Racing Beat will work with the stock springs and spring perches. I've got them in my car right now. The only possible problem is that the FB (81-85) strut inserts have a rod that is approx 1/32 too big, so you will have to grind/machine it down some.
Good luck.
Good luck.

With the OEM stuff & by sloting the 4 upper strut holes in the strut tower you can get approx 1 3/4 degree negative camber before the upper spring pearch hits the inside of the strut tower. With smaller diameter springs, smaller upper spring pearch & the camber plates you can get as much as 3 plus degrees of negative camber.
