i cannot get my nikki to idle, i have no vacuum leak, and everything seems to be in order. it also performs poorly while using only the primaries. and since my secondaries will stick. i will manually unstick them, and it will run for a while, then they will stick again, do you think they could be related?? what could cause poor performance of the primary jets.

hmm, well if your secondaries are sticking open at all then it will just make the car run like poop. too much fuel for idle/ cruise. why are they sticking? they shouldn't be at all. something isn't right if they are obviously and i'm sure you realize this. quadruple check your linkage and all.
besides this, you may be pulling fuel thru the venturi's somehow. a gasket could be on wrong or maybe the floats are rising even tho you have them set correctly. how is the fuel pressure?
let me know some more info and we'll get this biatch going!

hmmm... ok here is something random to try. it does sorta seem as if fuel is pushing thru and causing an issue. while the car is running... if possible to do this.... tap the banjo fittings on top of each float bowl where the fuel enters with the butt end of a screw driver or something similar. don't beat the hell out of it or use a hammer, but this may unstick the needle/seat, that is, if that's an issue. try this, i will ponder more. can you get any good pics of the carb? close up?

Ok, if you have sticking needles, when looking at the carb primaries at idle speed (or as close to idle speed you can get if it doesn't idle where it should), you'll see gas being spat into the primary barrels. Check it out.
