Exclamation Calling all Dell'orto owners/tuners

Alright guys I'm attempting to compile all the info I can on the Dell so I can put together a set of spreadsheets that will calculate the *ideal* setup for a any vehicle under any cicrumstances. I know this is going to be a monumental task but IF I can pull it off I'm sure it will be very useful to those of us who use the Dell, as well as giving a good foundation for Holley,Weber, Nikki, etc.

PLEASE POST THE INFO IN THE SIMPLEST FORMAT POSSIBLE AS THIS MAY SAVE MY EYESIGHT AND SANITY.

WOW good luck! I was under the impression that too many things like altitude, temperture, engine mods ,etc have to be taken into account in order to tune correctly. With that said isnt it more of a custom type setting for your particular motor? I have a SP 12a for example, that had a Dellorto set-up. All I would do is adjust the idle mixture screws until engine is about to stall and take it back until its running smooth. A bit tricky but this always works for me. It may not be the perfect way to tune a carb but all my carbs run fantastic after its set this way!

Well the great thing about excel is you can link individual cells and plug in formulas to calculate the effects of misc variables and give you a very solid baseline setup to work from. (in theory you could set it up to account for ALL the variables, I'm not *quite that ambitious though)

AND once you get the initial setup worked out you could reverse the process and plug in your intended HP/torque etc. and it could tell you what kind of setup (i.e. porting ) you would need to get it.

Latin: Southernrunner has had a lot of trouble with an engine he bought and never recieved. He thought he was going to have to sell his rex to buy another car b'cuz of this, and he's got a sweet rex, so he's understandably excited.

Southernrunner: Thats f*@kin' awesome man, gimme a shout when you get it in. Hopefully I will have this spreadsheet finished by then and we can test it a bit. BTW is your Dell setup for a 12a or 13b?
