Hmmm, pretty long thread for having started out with:

"NEVERMIND!"

and was followed by:

"sorry i dont mean to be snobby... search... scroll down and look... dont be lazy".

Believe me when I tell you that you won't find anybody on here recommending Civics. Your mom's recommendation to sell the car is understandable, but mis-informed. Sure, it's a 20 year old car, so it will be every bit as reliable as any 20 yr old Toyota or Honda--- which is to say that it requires more maintenance than a Japanese car that's 10 yrs old or newer. (and almost as much maintenance as a 10-yr-old domestic car). But the cost of payments for a newer car eclipse the maintenance costs for a 1st gen that was bought with cash and therefore has no payments. You still come out ahead, and have a much more fun car to boot.

Once you become more familiar with the proper care and feeding of these cars they are quite dependable over all. And once something is fixed it tends to stay that way. Even a rebuilt engine costing 2K is worth the expense--- as long as the rest of the car is in nice shape. Right now a GSL is worth 3K tops if in good shape, but give it another 5 or 10 years and watch the value double or even triple. This will not happen for Honda Civics of the same vintage, ever.

The only way to learn things in a school is through repetition, so i don't think
there is such a thing as a stupid question (specially if one is new).

Don't hesitate to ask Sexy Rexy85, whenever you have a question.
And let us know how things are coming with your RX-7.

And that also goes to any new members.

Welcome to the club!!!

Uh, not so fast. Most of the jerks just haven't discovered you yet. You just have to take them with a grain of salt (or a shot-glass full of Tabasco sauce).
