caked on grease????

Thumbs down caked on grease????

i checked out infront of my header around my lower engine and i have liek CAKED CAKED SUPER CAKED on oil that like boils and stuff after driving...anyone have this problem it smells like shiot like fully should i go under with carb cleaner a putter knife and tooth brush???

you may be leaking from your oil metering pump. Mine was like that and that was the reason. Replace that seal it is like a couple of bucks from racing beat or mazdatrix. Then you can go in with a putty knife or something and clean it off. Carb cleaner or something that cuts grease also works well to get off the residue.

mine has some of that crap.

Ive used -engine degreaser, stiff brush, pressure washer.

now that u say that the last owner when i bought it said there is a very very small leak in the oil metering pump linkage...if thats where it could leak if not that i was thinking the header gasket could have blown sprayin build up in the bay??

there is no way it is leaking from the linkage, there is nothing to leak, the omp comes off with 2 bolts. There is a gasket between the omp and the engine, there is one seal on each end of the omp itself (on the inside of it) and one seal on the inside if you actually break it apart...

brake cleaner is basically the same stuff as carb cleaner and works really well to clean just about anything.
