A/C, Radio Fuse Blown

So I've had my 1st Rx7 for a few weeks now ... and the other day I got in it and noticed the AC fan wasn't blowing and the radio wasn't working.

Checked the fuse box and sure enough the fuse was blown. So, I put in a new one and the radio started working just fine but still no moving air from the fan. With the fan switch in the on (L) position, after about 10 or 15 seconds, the fuse blew again. I replaced the fuse again and the radio stays on ... as long as I don't turn on the fan it's fine.

I assume the blower motor has seized and am going to dive in to take a look. Does this sound likely, or perhaps maybe some other wiring short is causing power failure to the blower and blowing the fuse? Has anyone ever seen this happen?

Now ... I should note that I have no idea if the rest of the AC system works. before this happened, I was going see about fixing it. The fan blew air, but it never got cold, so I was going to turn it on to check if the compressor was turning, etc. But now I can't even do that. I don't think any of that would matter for the blower problem ... but you never know with electrical

Any ideas?

If that fuse keeps blowing(I've had the exact same problem) You to check your radio wiring(I have an aftermarket head unit) I had on too many wires running off that circuit, that's why it was blowing fuses. At least I think so, cause after I rewired it it worked and now I don't blow fuses.

Blower motor comes out easy. 3 screws hold the flange and motor onto the bottom of the blower box. Disconnect the electrical plug and remove the screws. Shouldn't be hard to find a used one. You might post a WTB ad in the classified section or try feebay.

It may just be jammed by crap, too... no filter between the plenum and the blower, so 'things' tend to end up in there.
