Question buy or not?

im currently looking at an 84' gs
its got some rust in the rear wheel wells it needs new bushings and everything else to do with it it backfires but i think it has to do with not being started in 5 months and the exuast is screwed big time(wich i dont care a dual is going on it if possible), its got some roting going on what seems to be the subframe like on the ( donno the name for it) bar beside the windsheild u gotta open the door to see it, the clutch is perfact so it seems so far anway the frame itself looks good and hes asking 725 candian for it im wondering if i should jump on it or not... im gonna hoist it up tommorow to take a better look under it and im gonna try and drop him down to 650.... need some u pro's opinions on this car thanks

I'd say it depends on what you wanto to do with the car, modify or just drive for a beater?

I'f you want to mod it and have a nice Rx-7 I woulden't get it, once these cars start to rust (especially in the rear) there is almost no going back. I'd look for a nicer one If I were you if this is the case.

If you are just looking bor a everyday beater than it might be worth it if everything else checks out.

I bought a 83 that had some rust on it because I coulden't find any other around here (Minnesota) that didn't have rust for a decent price. I kind of regret it in some ways but I only payed $625 for it and I't looks nice now that I have cut out the rust and welded in new panels. But in the long run you still have a car with rust (remember these cars are spot welded together, very hard to get rid of all the rust).

Up to you I guess

Oh yeah, take the storage bins out and look at the inner wheel arches for bad rust ( this is what my car had). This is the area where they like to rust the easiest.

Take a look at what my storage bin area looked like before I fixed it (this was teh worse side)
