Butterfly Flap Question

I am talking about the flap right inside the snorkel of the intake. Can I remove this without any problems, and if so, how do you do it? How do you plug the holeon the exhaust? I am thinking about getting an exhaust when I can make some more money, but until then, what would I do? Also, coundn't I just leave the hole in the snorkel open, right?

Thanks,
Chris

You don't have to do anything. The hole is just in the heat shield and pulls hot air from around the exhaust not the exhaust itself. The flap is there to bring warm air in when the engine is cold and then closes to let the cooler air in after the engine warms up. Why do you want to remove it?

I was reading some older posts from Denny and was under the impression that it restricts airflow/helps it breathe better if it comes off, plus I don't think it works really well because most of the time it looks closed from the fresh air. Also, it keeps rattling and is starting to get annoying when working under the hood while it is running.

It's not that big of a deal so go ahead. It probably won't make that much difference in warm up time anyway.
