Question Bushings. Rubber Vs. Urethane... And Where To Get 'em

So how bad is the ride on the urethane bushings versus OEM / rubber ? Is it annoying or just stiffer ?

Are there good sources for both ? Please let me know where they are available. Are the ones from Energy Suspension any good ? They are on ebay with 1st gen master sets in red or black...

I have heard that they are stiffer but not sure about ride quality. I havent had any personal experience with them. I have heard LOTS of good things when it comes to the steering bushings though, if that helps any.

i've been told a good set up (for road/race use) by some people i know who race in the NZ super seven series is to replace all front bushes with nolethane/urethane bushes and replace the rear with rubber bushings, but its up to the individual, stiffer rear end easier to drift-softer better for track and road whats your plans for the car?????

Plans for my car...

The car is currently an occasional driver ( for headturning cruises ) and very occasional spanking of various buzzing little cars. Now that I am just beginning to work on performance issue and upgrades, I just want to be able to spank more mustangs, camaros, and stock vettes.

I'm all hung up on whether to do it with turbo, supercharger, or nitrous. I really don't want to hurt my engine ( only 3500 miles on the Design Energy 4 port 13B ).

Where I'm at: I already have the upgraded clutch, light flywheel, 85 Amp alternator, reworked radiator to 3 core, larger water pump pulley, K&N intake, Mikuni 44 sidedraft, header, Primaflow exhaust, etc.

If you decide to improve your handling by installing poly bushings, give www.suspension.com a shout. Replace everything in the front, don't worry about the back if you have decent rubbers in the rear area.
