26B was used in the 787 and 787B cars.

Yeah, I'd seen that vid of that car. Was pretty bas ***.

About that guy though, I'm willing to bet he's full of ****. As far as I know the 26b was made only for the Le Mans, not for production.

Its not really a 26B that you can get, at least not by definition. Basically its two 12A's with a custom eccentric shaft to keep the whole thing balanced. There are a couple of companies that make them over there, and you find a four rotor car running the Wangan every now and then. Mazda does not sanction any of these companies, and its a risk to buy them because Mazda never released engineering data from their four rotor program to the public. Basically you run the risk of getting a shoddy designed motor that will vibrate apart.
As for the real 26B, it exsisted for not only the 787B and 792P, but in the IMSA GTP class Mazda ran several prototypes with the 26B.

Just ask ygo20b why he spent so much on his fc? That car is bad *** and you know he put a small fortune into that thing.

I for one would be upset to have a slick 20B fall into a poo-*** deLorean under my nose, it should fall between the rails of a SA 7 instead - a much better car - use a porsche tranny in that too if ya have to. I've seen a track car here in NZ that had a (much more bad-*** than deLorean) 20B midmounted. A nice mega track weapon, bring it on DMC hybrids, Mazda gear is ready to stut its stuff!

The stainless body on the deLorean is quite cool, but no - looks: ugly, basic stock performance: rubbish.

Since I have no clue how to post a pic, I am going to post a link instead. Here is what I was talking about, http://www.fc3s.org/trips/sevenstock...s/dcp01553.jpg.
That pic was taken at Seven Stock 5. As you can see, its basically two 12As with a common eccentric shaft. I've seen it done with 13Bs too, but its more common with the 12A because racers love the four port and four port 13Bs aren't quite as common.

To come back to the BS thingy .. 26Bs of course existed, mainly in the lemans ( I'd have to check my files, but I had a video of them reving it up f*cking high mouhahaha sounded MEAN !! ) NE ways here's a good pic of it http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/787B/26b_large.jpg . The chances of your friend actually 1) getting his hands on one ... 2) Going to Japan to get it ... 3) Wanting to put it in his beat up 7 .. COMMON ! I don't even know him, he's probably days away from here and I can smell the BS from here ! lol

oh and just for the record , it was 700 hp at 9000 RPM with 448 ftlb@ 6500 RPM that mazda had in there's ! They competed in the LeMans in 1991, and were banned in 92 :P If I rememeber correctly , they were running in the 2.0-3.0L classes ( it is afterall a ~2.6 L ) but .. well ... a rotary IS a rotary :PpPpP

here's the movies ..

Hey all,
I heard once that mazda will actually sell you the 26B - You'd want to know the Mazda CEO in japan though - but you don't get the induction, electronics and other things. They will only give you the engine internals and then your on your own for tuning, settings and building the engine. They only give you the essential parts. But like I said I "heard" this from a reputible friend. Would be nice to just go and get a 26B for my seven

This is true, Mazda will sell you a 26B. But they give you a thourough grilling as to what you want it for, and generally don't sell it to private individuals. My friend and I have researched 26Bs a lot, we have plans to race a stripped first or second gen with a four rotor, and we determined that Mazda was not the best way to get one. A shame really, since theirs are the best as far as engineering and reliability go.

i think it's probably BS, although it could b true, there are more than a handful of 4 rotors around. U might just be lucky enough to no someone with one shortly, you never know!

To defend deloreans I have to say they are damn nice cars for preformance, they got nothing for HP stock though. But with the frame of a Lotus Esprit and only weighing in at 2600lbs dry they are not bad. I will also say with a little boost they are very fast too.

I used to work at Downing/Atlanta and one day I was over looking at the kudzu (while Rick Engman was tuning the MoTec) I asked him to build me a 26b for my first gen....He said sure....$150,000!!!....After that, I didnt even want to look at it anymore!!
