broken hood ralease (i think)

so, ive done a search about this and all i came up with was info about how to open the fc's hood and to use a chain saw to open the hood (yeah right)

so ive looked at the cable and it looked fine, nothing broken. even when i pull the release i can hear it click so im for sure its not broke. a nother thing ive tryed is some 1 push the hood down while i pull the releas, and still nothing happens.

i can no longer drive at night cuz i need to open the hood to manualy put 1 of the headlights up. so does any 1 know what i should do?? thanks

mine doesnt pop up sometimes. try pulling the release 3 or 4 times and then while pulling up on the hood, push passenger to driver. that worked for me. It's probably not anything broken, you might just have to realign the latch so it catches the hood more straight.

Pull the cable and hold while some one else lifts the hood.

PB Blaster is a lubricant spray like WD-40, only way better in terms of breaking up loose rust. That may help free up the springs and whatnot in the release.

I've used this stuff before, it is very powerful.

You may need an assistant to help pry it up while you pull the release lever.

If anything, for a temporary solution, you could always get something like a springy bushing or whatnot to put under the hood so that they'll be able to pop the hood open away from the latch until you get it fixed.
