Yes Yes it is..

you can either fix it to look nice.. or to function right...

For best results take off the rear end..Drink some beer.. cut the whole ROTTEN section out .. Drink some beer.. make a new wheel area to which you will mount these back (again for looks use similar thickness as original, for function use some Heavy Gage).. reinforce.. drink some beer.. make it look all snazzy.. put everything back..Dont drink beer.. drive..

This procedure might and most likely will take some time!!
and unless you can weld some $$.
I believe CP racing used to charge something like 400, or 500$ to fix

Its not the end of the world but the end of driving for a bit..
If you need some help (in advice form, or you want to take a look at how I fixed all my cars "GREAT PLACE ONTARIO WE USE SALT!!!!" ) dont hesitate to ask.

they are called control arm mounts. when they snap, its a very bad thing. you will have to cut out ALL of the old rusty metal and weld in fresh metal and new mounts. at that point, i would be asking myself if the car is worth saving. at the point that the control arm mounts rust off is usually the point of part out for me. if the mounts are that bad then there are going to be other major rust issues as well. rust issues such as rear inner wheel well rust, rocker panel rust, front wheel well rust at the bottom seam, floor rust at or under the seat mounts..you get the idea. get a good idea of what you're up against here before you go tearing into the control arm mounts.

remove the stupid storage bins, bolt (use 1/2 inch bolts with huge thick washers) a pre galvanized strut (home depot $12 for 10 feet) to the inside of the frame, and attach the watts link to galvanized 90 degree angle brackets.

Build the way mazda should of built it in the 1st place.
