bringing my car out of storage
My car has been sitting through the winter, it's my first time owning a car that I had to park, and I was wondering, what do you guys usually do for maintenance when you bring yours out of storage? Anything I should for sure do, or look out for? I just fired her up the other day and she was running pretty good, streets should be swept in about 3 weeks, I'm itching to get the 7 back on the road.

Change fluids for sure. Do a check on everything, making sure that no rodents etc have done any damage. Treat it like a general tune-up, ie: belt tension, timing blah, blah, blah. What did you do for the car to prep it for storage?

And of course, after you've done all that, throw some ribs on the BBQ!

As for how I stored it, I just put in some fuel additive, through a tarp over her and parked it at the top of my drive way. Still a lot of charge on the battery, I will check the tires out, they were in kinda rough shape before storing it. Anyway, what should I look out for in the way of rodent damage? Wires? belts? mice poop on the 12a?

the secret is to do all your prep going INTO storage!! That way its mostly a matter of, well, using the key and go!

You mentioned a "tarp". If you are using the ubiquitous blue/green plastic ones: DON'T. plastic does NOT breath! Any moisture trapped underneath will damage the paint, as will the roughness of the plastic scratch your paint!! (wind)
Rodents:
I placed mothballs around the enqine in the winter. You'll know if you have vermin if the wire harness is chewed anywhere
Would also recommend you change your FUEL FILTER each spring. $2 item, saves a lot of grief with unknown driveability issues. Located in front of driver side rear wheel (except GSL -SE)
Battery: I'd pull it. Unless its a sealed (aka "Maintenance Free") type, batteries vent acidic fumes. Not a prob if driving the car, since air movement keeps from having it build up, but just sitting = rust-o-rama. Just look UNDER your battery shelf to see what I mean!
