Here's my thread on this very topic:

I ended up driving 1000 miles keeping the revs under 3000. Then I went the next 200 keeping it under 4000, 200 more keeping it under 5000, another 200 keeping it under 6000, then let 'er rip. I have over 2500 miles on it now, and so far it runs great.

Varies with the new parts used in the rebuild. Old housings, (with new apes seals) and/or new bearings lengthen the break in. There are many opinions on break in. Generally, 3-4000 rpm for the 1st 1000 miles, the increase 1000 rpm the next 2 500 mile periods.
Change oil at 200-500 miles, again at 1000, then every 3000.

I have had to tow it to start it as the starter has fired it only once, the trailing plugs usually foul with the starter. I run it for a while to get it to temp but have put less than 50 miles driving it.I put a rebuilt carb on it and there are no vacuum leaks. Is this typical?
