Is the one on the left the old one and the one on the right the replacement theyre talking about? It doesnt look as good as some Ive seen for being supposedly NOS.

The auction states it is from 1972. The 12a's were dual distributor until 1973. Also, like KenChan said they would not have the rats nest colored solenoids.

Those look like '79 or '80 model RX-7 motors with California emissions.

if those are brand new, why do they each have different oil filters, or rather if they were nos why would they even come with oil flters?

New? dont think so...to dirty to be new look at the fan, oil filter and the air filter cover....Looks like BRAND USED to me....look out...

Looks to me like a good cleaning and some tape over the carb. I mean but if you can sell your soul on ebay why not a NOS 12a

Total scam, or he has no clue what they are.
Lack of dual distributors is obvious as bwaits said.Also,those older engines had the starters on top of the engine,where all the rats nest stuff is located.
I agree with Moses,they look like CA 80 engines,the EGR valve on the center housing gives them away.

The air filter says its an SA, the charcoal canister is built into the air filter lid.
