brakeperformance.com rotors

So, I ordered and received front and rear rotors for my 85 gsl from brakeperformance.com. Slotted and cross drilled. Had a little time today so I thought I would get the back brakes done as the pads and rotors were in terrible shape. Got the rear rotors on and everything looked right... until I tried to put the tires back on the car. Apparently, for some reason, the hub on the new rotors are about 1/8th inch too big and the wheel will not go on the car!!! Everything else on the rotor matches up perfectly.

I'm a bit unhappy right now and will be calling their customer service number as soon as they open up tomorrow to see what they will do for me. It really sucks that now my car will have to sit until they ship me a new set. I'll let everyone know how I make out so you know whether or not to avoid this company...

I had that problem when I ordered rear rotors from a local parts store. They reluctantly took them back and got me another set, which were also wrong. At that point I ordered online and luckily they fit. I guess whatever company is manufacuring the blanks has the hub size wrong on their listing...

I just called them. They want me to send them the casting number that is on the rotors that they sent me and also want me to find the casting numbers on the rotors that are currently on the car and send them those as well. I'm guessing that the rotors that are currently on the car are the original factory rotors (car only has 50,000 miles on it). Is there a casting number on the original rotors?? I don't remember seeing one when I had them off yesterday...

Gotta say... Not too impressed with the response I'm getting from this company. I'm being treated as though I don't know what car I have. Funny thing is, the hub size on the front rotors is correct, just the rear rotors are wrong. I have to look one more time on the original rotors for a "casting number". Apparently this company can't do anything without that number... Back to the garage again.

You're not alone. When I had the same problem with the parts store rotors a few years back they kept going back to "maybe the rear end was changed at some point" or some other nonsense. I had to keep telling them I was quite sure I had the right rear end, and correct wheel, and it was not fitting. I actually brought one of my stock wheels with me and told them if they could get it to fit then I'd let them keep my money lol. Obviously it didn't...

The woman that I am working with on the phone just keeps saying "Well these are the part numbers that we have listed for your car". I keep trying to get her to understand that if they are the right parts, that would mean I would need to have a set of wheels that would only fit the front of the car and a set of wheels that would only fit the back of the car, since the front rotors are fine... I don't think she gets it...

On a side note, the only numbers I can make out on the edge of the factory rotors are 911. Don't really think that's what she's looking for, but I'm about a day away from demanding a full refund.

Yeah I would want a refund at that point. Somewhere along the line some company must have mistyped the hub diameter in their listing for our cars or something and now there are a bunch of rotor blanks out there with the wrong dimension. Would be simple enough to correct if you have a lathe, but I don't...
