Brake swap Q..
Hey all,
I swapped out the rear in my GS from the drum rear to the disk rear. I rebuilt the calipers and changed the lines to braided cable. Unfortunately i have a severe case of brake fade where even sitting still the pedal will slowly go to the floor with pressure, and it gets worse if its a rolling stop. I don't see that the fluid is leaking out anywhere. But...if i am remembering correctly i should have switched the master cylinder or the proporioning valve?? anyone do this swap and have any suggestions?
thanks,
Bryan

Your master cylinder is shot. Get one made for a GSL and you will be all set. Not sure if the proportioning valve needs replacement too or not. Good luck.

yes you have to get the master cylinder from a disk brake car the master cylinder booster and proportioning valve can be removed as a whole I would just change it all to avoid anymore problems.

Terrified.
I also recommend, if you can afford it, all new parts when upgrading a system. If you are converting to a lsd/disc brake rearend, then buy all new master cylinder and brake lines to go with it. I mean you are already having to take that stuff off, you may as well make sure they are new as well. Perhaps I am just too worried when I do stuff, but I like to ensure new parts being put on.
