brake moan

Was wondering if anyone ever had this problem? And if so how they fixed it.

On my 83 GSL, I recently replaced front pads with stock Mazda pads. Now I get a moan from the front brakes when they are being applied. The moan gets louder the faster I am stopping from and the harder they are applied. Pretty wierd (in my opinion) but my dad says he has heard of this before but can't remember the fix.
Any suggestions.

Did you apply anti-squeal compound to the BACK of the pads? If so the moan could be normal wear-in, which happens.

If not, remove the pads and apply the compound to the side FACING THE CALIPER.

Do NOT grease the rotors.
