Brake Master Cylinder Leak??

I am losing brake fluid at what looks to be where the MC meets the booster. I am assuming that there is some type of gasket that has failed. The brakes hold pressure good and are solid. I just keep having to add fluid to the reservoir every few days.

Questioon is: what do I need to replace to stop this leak. It does not seem like the MC needs to be rebuilt but I can't find a gasket listed anywhere by itself. Do the rebuild kits for the MC come with a gasket to fix this leak.

Thanks in advance.

Ok I'll bite.
The MC gasket comes with the fender bushing kit, which you will need becuaaassssse, the brake fluid will eat your fenders out. But some fenders like that.

Dude, you are a teacher, so turn your book to page 11-17 and see the master cylinder exploded view. Those are rubber seals on the piston. Not gaskets. hey I was just kidding about all that eating out stuff.

Did not have a "book" handy and I wanted to stop by the parts store on the way home today. So, if I understand correctly, the rebuild kit has everything I need to stop the leak? Only asking because Advance and Autozone have listed in their parts section a master cylinder "gasket" which neither of them have in stock. A bit confusing. I did not want to buy a whole kit if I could just replace the one part that was leaking.

thnks.

As far as the eating away thing goes the fluid may not eat the fender up but once the leak is fixed the lack of paint will probably cause rust to start there so I guess I will be doing some cleaning and painting in there once the leak is stopped.

If your master cylinder is leaking replace the master cylinder itself, they are not too expensive to replace... Your primary secondary seal has offiously failed and it is allowing fluid to escape and pour onto your brake booster, just replace the master.
